Someplace Believing: The Musical
April 4th 2:00pm and 6:30pm
Venue: The Sanctuary Arts Centre, 100 Ochterloney Street, Dartmouth, NS B2Y 1C5
“Someplace Believing: The Musical” celebrates diversity and aims to keep reducing mental health stigma, showcasing the value of every individual in society. It is for everyone who has ever felt othered, underestimated, or unseen. It’s about community, humour, falling apart, and still daring to believe there’s something better.
With a backdrop of music that is reminiscent of 80s Pop/Rock with Symphonic accents, it blends humour and serious themes, exploring the journey of a young woman with Schizophrenia as she navigates the real world after escaping a cult-like upbringing.
With the help of a quirky group of individuals from Someplace Believing, an employment and life skills agency for those with Mental Illness, she learns to embrace her unique identity and finds strength in her experiences.
