The Penticton Scottish Festival is a unique event that combines traditional Scottish Highland Games of musical and athletic competitions with Celtic cultural entertainment and family fun. This year we welcome the National Youth Pipe Band of New Zealand as our Guest Band. It is a non-competing, high performance pipe band for 14-23 year-olds. Let’s show them a warm Penticton Welcome when they perform in the Friday evening concert at King’s Park starting at 6:30 pm. The concert is FREE so come and join the fun!
Competitive events such as Highland Dancing, Solo Bagpiping and Drumming and Heavy Events (stone put, hammer throw, weight for height, and the famous caber toss) start off the morning! This year our Festival precedes the Canadian National Highland Dance Competition commencing July 8th so the “best of the best” dancers will be on the Penticton dance stages!
Kids’ Zone will keep the wee ones entertained with the Haggis Hurl, Kids’ Caber Toss and a Kilted Relay. We also have the pleasure of including the Penticton Indian Band’s Indigenous Village full of cultural activities for kids of all ages!
Adults can indulge in a Whisky school and the beverage tent.
