Theatre Replacement's East Van Panto: West Van Story takes the stage at The Cultch's York Theatre this November 19th – January 4th.
Follow Holly, a West Van influencer, who gets stranded in East Van with her curling team. There, she meets Joes, a charming member of "The East Van Pets," who are rivals to her team. Holly finds herself torn between her privileged upbringing, influenced by her mother Boberta Rainy, and a budding romance with Joes. The plot involves themes of love, dance battles, civic resistance, and the conflict between development and low-income housing. The production is the thirteenth annual East Van Panto, written by Marcus Youssef and Pedro Chamale, directed by Chelsea Haberlin, and features music by Veda Hille. It promises to be a joyful and subversive all-ages tradition.
